Milly Peck exhibits in the group show 'The New Accelerator' at the Ruskin Gallery, Cambridge, UK, running from 9 March - 3 April 2023.
Peck exhibits a new, smaller work from her 'Alight' series which were exhibited in her solo show 'A Matter of Routine' at VITRINE Basel in 2020. The Alight series are suggestive of train/tube/tram windows and doorways, produced in an Art Deco fashion, with curved shapes and brightly coloured geometric stained glass.
"'The New Accelerator' project aims to establish a dialogue between a range of artists who have reflected advances in technology through reductive, minimal, architectonic or geometric approaches. Taking Cambridge’s unique position as a hub of scientific and mathematical innovation, and with particular key works in the Fitzwilliam collection as a starting point, this project identifies an interaction between art, science, science fiction and systems, and through presenting a range of contrasting artist’s practices, the exhibition will address the points of connection and departure within these key areas.
