John Walter’s ‘Large Green Astroturf Book’ will be included in 2013’s KALEID on Saturday 20th July, 11am-7pm. Launched in 2012, KALEID is an annual event dedicated to showcasing and selling artist’s books to the public. They work closely with librarians, private book dealers and individual collectors, to advocate public special collections and promote artist’s books. More info.

Leah Capaldi will be participating in the Onion Series at the Royal College of Art on Sunday 23 June. She will be sharing her experiences since graduating in the roundtable discussion, Flourish or Fade – How to survive after art school, which begins at 3 pm. Saturday, 22 June | 3pm. Please join us at Cafe Gallery to mark the final weekend of ‘Mass. En Masse. Mass Medium’, curated by Alys Williams (Vitrine Director). Leah Capaldi’s performance ‘Lido’ will be happening within the installation; Alys Williams (exhibition curator) and Natasha Rees (artist and co-producer of the accompanying publication project) will give a tour of the exhibition and take questions; and artist James Lewis will present his lecture ‘Beyonce and Miami’, part of an ongoing enquiry into the sentiment ‘everything is material’. More details… here

NEWS John Walter Public Mural

John Walter has been commissioned by Smart Consultants in Aberdeen to curate a new mural for Aberdeen Inspired at McCombie Court in the heart of the city centre. The 7 metre long digitally printed vinyl mural depicts images and personalities associated with the region and this historic site and is a permanent new public artwork. NEWS Wil Murray in The Painting Project: Part 2

Wil Murray’s work will be shown alongside the work of thirty other artist from Canada in The Painting Project Part 2: A Snapshot of Painting in Canada.  Curated by Julie Bélisle and Louise Déry, the show will take place at GALERIE DE L’UQAM in Montréal, Québec, opening on 6 June and running until 6 July 2013. Opening Friday 24 May is system · painting · construction · archive, a group show exploring the roles of Constructivism in contemporary practice.  The show features work by Vitrine’s Clare Kenny alongside Andrew Bick, Cullinan Richards, Stuart Eliot, Robert Holyhead, Maria Lalic, Karim Noureldin, David Rhodes and Brandon Taylor. Running between 25 May and 15 of June, the show will take play at The Lion and Lamb on Fanshaw Street.

Alys Williams, director at Vitrine, will be curating the group show Mass.  En Masse.  Mass Medium. at Cafe Gallery, London.
